Join Our Cheer Clinics!

CHEERLEADERS NEW TO SJB!
See what SJB cheer is all about prior to committing to the season! Clinics will cover the fundamentals of cheerleading (motions, jumps) with some intro to stunts and tumbling.
$5 per clinic - cash only at the door
Clinics are open to any athlete aged 5-14, no experience necessary! These are two designated intro clinics for new cheerleaders more geared towards the fundamentals of cheerleading. These will take place on Tuesday, 4/14, and Wednesday, 4/15.
SJB cheerleading offers both sideline and competition programs. Any athlete planning to participate in the Fall 2026 competition season MUST attend at least three clinics.
Clinic time will be separated by age, determined as of 7/1/2026.
Ages 5-8: 6-7pm
Ages 9-14: 7-8:30pm

📣 SJB Sideline Cheer Program
Program Overview
Our Sideline Cheer Program gives young athletes the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of cheerleading while supporting our football teams in a fun, energetic, and team-oriented environment.
Following American Youth Cheerleading (AYC) guidelines, the program emphasizes:
- Teamwork
- Confidence
- School spirit
- Age-appropriate skill development
Sideline Cheer is open to participants of all experience levels and focuses on building a strong foundation in cheer basics while creating a positive and inclusive experience.
Age Divisions
The SJB Sideline Cheer Program is organized by age to align with football divisions and ensure appropriate instruction.
Age is determined as of July 1 of the current year.
Typical divisions include:
- Flag Sideline Cheer – Introduction to cheer motions, chants, and teamwork
- D8 (Ages 7–8) – Continued skill development with structured routines
- D10 (Ages 9–10) – Expanded motions, formations, and game-day participation
- D12–D14 (Ages 11–14) – Advanced sideline skills and leadership development
Age group offerings may vary based on registration numbers and AYF guidelines.
Program Focus & Development
Sideline Cheer emphasizes development, participation, and confidence-building. Athletes will learn:
- Basic cheer motions and terminology
- Age-appropriate chants and cheers
- Sideline formations and game-day etiquette
- Teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship
All routines and activities are non-competitive, focusing on learning and fun rather than performance rankings.
Coaches & Volunteers
Our teams are led by dedicated volunteer coaches committed to creating a positive and encouraging experience.
All coaches are required to:
- Complete background checks
- Follow AYC cheer guidelines and safety standards
- Adhere to league codes of conduct
Parents and guardians are encouraged to volunteer as cheer coaches or team helpers.
Practice & Game Schedule
- Practices: Typically held 1–2 times per week
- Game Days: Cheerleaders attend weekend football games
Practice schedules and game assignments will be shared once teams are formed. Coaches will communicate attendance expectations.
Uniforms & Equipment
Provided by the Program:
- Game uniform (top, bottom, bow)
Required from Families:
- White cheerleading shoes
- White no-show socks
- Weather-appropriate layers for game days
- A black long-sleeve T-shirt and black leggings may be worn under the uniform
- Rain jacket available for purchase (optional)
Pom-poms or additional accessories may be provided or required depending on the team and age group.
Safety Guidelines
Athlete safety is a top priority. Sideline Cheer follows AYF safety standards:
- No stunting or tumbling beyond age-appropriate allowances
- No competitive routines
- Emphasis on proper warm-ups and stretching
- All activities are appropriate for age and experience level
Registration Information
Online registration includes:
- League fees
- AYF insurance
- Uniform costs (if applicable)
- Field access
- Administrative expenses
- Early registration is encouraged to assist with team placement
- Late registration may be accepted based on availability
- Payment plans or financial assistance may be offered
Specific dates, fees, and deadlines will be posted on the registration page.
Code of Conduct
All cheer participants, coaches, and spectators are expected to maintain a positive and respectful environment. Unsportsmanlike behavior or inappropriate sideline conduct will not be tolerated.
Our goal is to create a supportive atmosphere that reflects good sportsmanship and community pride.
